With the release of the new EP, Business Casual, by We Are Scientists this past month, Chris Cain and Keith Murray added an indie tribute cover to the world with the band’s rendition of Berlin’s “Take My Breath Away.”

As if that wasn’t awesome enough, We Are Scientists released a video for the song today, retelling the 80s classic Top Gun using some of the greatest replacement actors ever.

This Top Gun remake stars Maverick and Goose (played by updated versions of Little People with limbs), Ice Man (played by an unhooded Emperor from LEGO Star Wars), and Miss Charlie (played by the Pink Power Ranger). While working their day jobs as fighter pilots of Boeing 757 planes, the characters enjoy life: they play volleyball with the likes of Batman and Iron Man and hump each other after a win, fall in love at Ted Danson’s bar, and drive around on motorcycles. Things take a turn for the worst, however, when Goose is killed in a dog-fight, making Maverick question if he should ever fly a jet again.

While this retelling may veer off a tad from the original movie, the song and video beg for a full-length release, no matter how budget-looking it may seem.
