It looks like “Untitled Jurassic World Sequel” will be leaving placeholders on IMDb and beyond, as the Jurassic World sequel finally has a real title: Jurassic World: The Fallen Kingdom. The celebrations began with the release of a poster image to show off the heady title.
Fallen Kingdom is headed up by J.A. Bayona, with Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard reprising their roles from the preceding film and even Jeff Goldblum coming in to reprise some semblance of his role as Ian Malcolm.
Unfortunately, that’s about it for the press release, besides the release date of June 18, 2018. The Fallen Kingdom sounds like what should have followed up The Lost World: Jurassic Park if they didn’t get that T-Rex back on the ship, with dinosaurs overrunning the world once again as humanity struggles to keep their place. So it would have been a dino version of Rise of the Planet of the Apes. There are worse rip-offs. Such as the cast searching for a fossil that proves that aliens created the dinosaurs, a la Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Let’s hope none of the above is what’s in store for us.
